1st Birthday Sweet Shop Guest Table

Hello Everyone! Today was an amazing and exciting day! it was my nieces very first birthday party and I was lucky enough to be able to make a guest table for them. The theme was “Rayna & Rylan’s Sweet Shop” and here are some pictures of some of the prep work I did the other day, as well as the finished product itself! Hope you enjoy!

Label Making!

First off I made some labels of everything that was going to be on the table! Can you believe my cousin and I decided on 16 different sugary filled treats?? I had the most fun making these cute little cards and making little bows.

mock setup

Next was figuring out what plates and jars to use and where they would go.

Cake Pops!

And then…the cake pops! These were my best batch ever I think! I added orange food coloring to make it look more vibrant and fun =)

more cake pops!

Mmm Marshmallows...

Oh and THEN I saw a picture of these online and it was so simple and fun I just had to make some for the party!

Candy Jars

I think the labels for the jars were my favorite!

Finished Product!

FINALLY! The table was set up, minus the cupcakes that hadn’t yet arrived. ( I didn’t make the cupcakes or the little cakes for them, we had them ordered because I didn’t have time to make anymore lol). I was so please the table was big enough! There was sooo much candy on that table! Unfortunately the lighting in the room was awful and the room was small so this was the best shot I could take of the entire thing. I’m hoping my cousin managed to get a better picture than I did!

EVERYTHING!

Here’s a picture of absolutely EVERYTHING on the table, cupcakes, cakes, cookies, cake pops, candies and more!

Cake Time!!!

Here are my niece’s with their beautiful cakes! Happy first birthday and I can’t wait until next year when we get to do this all over again but bigger and better!

Lots of Good Stuff <3

Merry Be-lated Christmas Everyone!!

It’s been crazy busy on my end for the holidays, been baking lots of treats and cooking lots of food to share with my friends and family!

Take  a look =D

Cookies in a Jar

First of all, for a select few I made cookies in a jar. I layered a bunch of ingredients and all you need to add is the wet stuff, like butter, eggs and vanilla.

I even made labels for them

cute labels

Next, I spent like…probably 50 bucks these past few weeks on pecans alone! To make what you may ask?

Well Pecan Tarts of course!!

Pecan Tarts, all toasty and yummy

I ended up making a WHOLE LOTTA pecan tarts because my mom and my auntie fell in love with them. So I ended up making a double batch within the same week.

=)

ooOOOooo layers...

Also for this years treat bags, which I literally made the day of i was going to go to work and hand them out, I made some cookies and pecan tarts.

I went more for quality than quantity this year.

Treat Bags

The cookies I made for the treat bags were chocolate chip toffee and ginger molasses. They were super yummy, especially from right out of the oven ❤

I mean…LOOK at that!

Aaaand I think that was it…

OH, i forgot to mention that for christmas I got a KitchenAid mixer, which I am very excited about!

So, Ithink I may try making something tomorrow just to use it 😀

Anyways, Happy Holidays Everyone!

Manna’s Baby Shower =)

Hello all! So my fabulous friend Manna is gonna have a baby boy and for her baby shower she surprisingly asked me to cater for her!

I was very excited!

We didn’t really discuss any specific details, only that her mom and her were having an ABC’s and 123’s theme in blue, yellow, and red. Therefore the goodies should match =D

Here we have Marbled Cupcakes with White Chocolate Buttercream Frosting. I must say the frosting turned out beautifully! Super white-chocolatey!

Cupcakes!

Here’s an image of the actual marbled cupcakes, you can’t see the pretty swirls underneath the yummy buttercream frosting lol

Next we have the cookies, which basically look like cookies, but Manna’s mum wanted writing on them. On the left are peanut butter cookies with chocolate chips and on the right are my awesomely awesome chocolate chip cookies!

C is for COOKIE and that’s good enough for me =D

Lovely isn’t it?

It definitely took me time to do this one because I wanted them to be super fresh for Manna’s baby shower. So I woke up at 8:30am and finished these at 1:30pm just in time to get ready for work =D

W00t!

Anyways, here is what the final product looked like…..

Ta-Da!

I hope to hear from Manna soon and see pictures of the whole event!

Thanksgiving/Autumn Fest

Sooooo this is way over due! I’ve been SO busy I haven’t had time to post new pics up, but I assure you I have been baking! Here’s proof =D

Sugar Cookies

Sprinkly Sugar Cookies!

Don’t sprinkles just make everything more exciting?!

As dorky as this next photo will be I feel like I must share this with you! Recently I have discovered a place called the Bulk Barn….where they sell everything in bulk. Of course, they have a whole section of SPRINKLES! So I went a little crazy….and well….just look.

And now finally, my biggest update news….

I’m in the process of making business cards! =O

I’d like to start catering for small parties or just for individual consumption lol. If it gets requested enough I might start doing desert tables and event planning (when it comes to food)  just like my cousin’s baby shower.

So, with that said, my blog in the next couple of weeks will have some added tabs that will include a menu and ordering details. SIf you already know me then you will for sure be hearing updates from me! =D

Cupcake Cookies – the art of cookie crafting

Hellooo. I have recently just gotten into cookie making, not the chocolate chip oatmeal kind but the pretty decorated sugar cookie kind with icing and shapes. So I picked up a book from Chapters called Cookie Crafting and it has some amazing pictures in there as well as delicious cookie recipes!

In my last post about my cousin’s baby shower I made the sugar and gingerbread cookies from the book, it was actually my first attempt at cookie crafting and I thought it went so-so. The desired results was not what I wanted =( So i tried again with the chocolate cookie recipe and made these….

Cupcake shaped Cookies

I ❤ Bows

So that’s my close up of one of the cookies, still not where I want to be but i’m slowly improving! This is definitely not an easy process, there are lots more steps than you’d think and just making all the icing different colors is a lot of work, very messy work lol

But i’ll keep trying and hopefully improve even more so I can make really clear cut vibrant cookies =D

I <3 COOKIES

The Cookie Monster =)

Like I said in my earlier post, I have still been baking while i’ve been away from the blogging community. Pretty much only cookies it seems….which is ok because I LOVE COOKIES! I love eating them more than I like eating cupcakes, but cupcakes are a lot of fun to decorate.

Anyways, so here are just a couple snap shots of the things that i’ve made

actually scratch that, I can’t get my other pictures up quite yet, but here’s one of the images

These are sugar cookie pizza’s my brother and I decorated. We sort of cheated and bought the sugar cookie dough already made to save us time.

They turned out pretty cool!

V-Day Madness

Happy Valentine’s Day/ Single Awareness Day!!! ❤

Holy crap have I been a busy girl!

I baked 3 days in a row, for my brother’s Valentine’s Day party at his school, for my peeps at work, and for my friend who really had a craving for brownies lol

So here we go!

My little brother requested cupcakes for his school party, so I decided to make…

.

Mini Pink Lemonade Cupcakes =D

Pink Lemonade Cupcakes

It’s basically a lemon cake with pink lemon butter cream frosting.

Very sweet and refreshing =)

I piped the frosting into roses and then tinted the frosting into different shades of pink to look more like a bouquet =)

Next, I started work on some Heart-Shaped Sugar Cookies with a Jolly Rancher Center.

They didn’t turn out exactly how I wanted them too buuuuut they are still pretty to look at!

UPDATE

Wow it’s totally been a long time since I last posted something… (not really, like 2 weeks I guess? but it feels like monthes!).

I did make cookies last week, three different kinds actually, but I didn’t take pictures or make any kind of tutorial for you guys. However, I can give you guys a little tip on cookie making =)

So Last week I made chocolate chip cookies, mint chocolate chip cookies, and peanut butter with peanut butter chip cookies.

  • For the chocolate chip cookies, I used the recipe previously posted.

  • For the mint chocolate chip, I used the same chocolate chip cookie recipe, however instead of vanilla extract, I used 1/2 tsp  of mint/peppermint extract. You can add alittle more if you really like mint, but the reason why you use so little is because it’s really strong. too much mint extract and your cookies will taste like toothpaste instead of refreshing. (however, if you like toothpaste, go for a whole tablespoon =) )

  • Lastly, I finally decided  to make Peanut Butter cookies because i’ve been craving them, but I usually shy away from anything peanut because I work with children and I don’t want to be the reason for an allergy attack =(   However, I took the necessary precautions and sealed them in a separate  ziplock bag from the other cookies I made and made sure nobody ate them around the children!

I was alittle dissapointed in my peanut butter cookies though, I prefer those really soft buttery peanut butter cookies, and these ones turned out abit crispier. Still really good though =)

Now, the weekend coming up is that dreaded Valentine’s day that every single girl always says they could care less about, but really they do care and they basically just HATE that day…

Anyways, I now use this day as an excuse to bake a whole lot more than I usually do, and to share treats with my very lovely friends.

I’m keeping it a surprise until then, but I will give you a little hint as to what my inspiration is =)
