My Bad…I Forgot!

So my bad. I started a facebook page for The Sweet Life and I completely forgot about my first born: this blog haha.

Like I said in a previous post, I dislike how difficult it is to post on this blog while on facebook it takes me 2 seconds to upload pictures from my phone! I still cant bring myself to get rid of this though so I will try harder to post more or atleast do a monthly update? Maybe that would be easier haha.

Anyways, heres what ive been
upto!

Until then…=)

Catching Up

So it’s been pretty much more than a whole year since i’ve posted anything and quite frankly it’s because I hate how this blogsite is laid out! It’s hard to post any updates and just lay it out nicely. So i’ve actually made a facebook page where i’ve been keeping everyone up to date with what’s going on, but just to keep this blog alive here is what i’ve been upto!ImageImageImageImageImage

1st Birthday Sweet Shop Guest Table

Hello Everyone! Today was an amazing and exciting day! it was my nieces very first birthday party and I was lucky enough to be able to make a guest table for them. The theme was “Rayna & Rylan’s Sweet Shop” and here are some pictures of some of the prep work I did the other day, as well as the finished product itself! Hope you enjoy!

Label Making!

First off I made some labels of everything that was going to be on the table! Can you believe my cousin and I decided on 16 different sugary filled treats?? I had the most fun making these cute little cards and making little bows.

mock setup

Next was figuring out what plates and jars to use and where they would go.

Cake Pops!

And then…the cake pops! These were my best batch ever I think! I added orange food coloring to make it look more vibrant and fun =)

more cake pops!

Mmm Marshmallows...

Oh and THEN I saw a picture of these online and it was so simple and fun I just had to make some for the party!

Candy Jars

I think the labels for the jars were my favorite!

Finished Product!

FINALLY! The table was set up, minus the cupcakes that hadn’t yet arrived. ( I didn’t make the cupcakes or the little cakes for them, we had them ordered because I didn’t have time to make anymore lol). I was so please the table was big enough! There was sooo much candy on that table! Unfortunately the lighting in the room was awful and the room was small so this was the best shot I could take of the entire thing. I’m hoping my cousin managed to get a better picture than I did!

EVERYTHING!

Here’s a picture of absolutely EVERYTHING on the table, cupcakes, cakes, cookies, cake pops, candies and more!

Cake Time!!!

Here are my niece’s with their beautiful cakes! Happy first birthday and I can’t wait until next year when we get to do this all over again but bigger and better!

Bridal Shower, Anniversaries and More!

To jump right in, i’ve been really busy lately but I have still been baking a couple things here and there.

Most recently is a friend’s friend’s bridal shower party. She requested a white and purple theme with vanilla and chocolate cupcakes. So here’s how they turned out!

Bridal Shower Cupcakes

They are actually more purple in real life than it shows on camera, but oh well. I think they turned out beautifully!

The next project I did was for my mom and dad’s 25th anniversary. I made them lemon cupcakes with powdered sugar and orange stars. I call them my lemon dream cupcakes ❤

And then lastly, I made myself a banana cream pie…just because I was craving some! haha

wow this is late too lol

I’ve been a very busy bee this semester! But I did make some cakes and treats which I will now show you!

=O ANOTHER red velvet cake for my Brother's B-day! =)

I also made Macarons for the first time ever! I was inspired by the ones I saw and tasted at a fancy luncheon thing I went to a couple weeks ago…

Cappuccino Macarons

These were ABSOLUTELY delicious! Next time I will make some pretty colored ones and make them rounder =D

Lastly I made banana rum cake for my aunt and uncles anniversary as requested by my aunt. She kept telling me that I had to make something with rum in it, lol. This DEFINITELY had a lot of rum. People said they were getting drunk just from smelling it haha

Whoops, this is late

Omgoodess! It’s been so long since i’ve posted anything.  Since before the new year!!

I assure you that I have been baking.

Here is proof!

Sour Cream Chocolate Cupcakes with Chocolate frosting

I made these for my friend’s baby shower, the same preggo lady I made the alphabet cupcakes for =D

She gets two baby showers because she’s special like that!

A Close Up

Egg-Less Brownies for Kobek

This was hard to find, a good egg-less brownie recipe but I DID IT and they were actually very good.

Can’t replace a regular brownie recipe with eggs but it’ll do!

Valentine's Day/Goodbye Cupcakes =D

I made these for my peeps at work. I recently quit so this was my last batch of goodies I baked for them. It was right before Valentine’s day too so that’s why there are hearts and “XOX”s .  These are birthday cake cupcakes with caramel frosting.

Lots of Good Stuff <3

Merry Be-lated Christmas Everyone!!

It’s been crazy busy on my end for the holidays, been baking lots of treats and cooking lots of food to share with my friends and family!

Take  a look =D

Cookies in a Jar

First of all, for a select few I made cookies in a jar. I layered a bunch of ingredients and all you need to add is the wet stuff, like butter, eggs and vanilla.

I even made labels for them

cute labels

Next, I spent like…probably 50 bucks these past few weeks on pecans alone! To make what you may ask?

Well Pecan Tarts of course!!

Pecan Tarts, all toasty and yummy

I ended up making a WHOLE LOTTA pecan tarts because my mom and my auntie fell in love with them. So I ended up making a double batch within the same week.

=)

ooOOOooo layers...

Also for this years treat bags, which I literally made the day of i was going to go to work and hand them out, I made some cookies and pecan tarts.

I went more for quality than quantity this year.

Treat Bags

The cookies I made for the treat bags were chocolate chip toffee and ginger molasses. They were super yummy, especially from right out of the oven ❤

I mean…LOOK at that!

Aaaand I think that was it…

OH, i forgot to mention that for christmas I got a KitchenAid mixer, which I am very excited about!

So, Ithink I may try making something tomorrow just to use it 😀

Anyways, Happy Holidays Everyone!

Happy December!!

It’s that wonderful time of the year when wintertime doesn’t seem so bad, I’m talkin’ about CHRISTMAS!

Well it’s not Christmas yet, but i’m ready for it. I got my tree up already and I started off the month with some wintery cupcakes, although technically I made them in November…..anyways. Look!

Buttermilk Cupcakes with Vanilla Frosting and Chocolate BOWS!

I made these for school, a supervisor-luncheon thing actually. I dunno if everybody knows, but I am starting my practicum with Absolute Interiors in January 2011! How exciting is that?? I will be working on a lottery show home located in Windemere which is even more exciting and I hope when it is completed that my friends will come and look!

Anyways, back to the cupcakes. The luncheon was just a get together for supervisors and practicum students, where we discussed the practicum criteria and such. It was a great networking opportunity and therefore I of course offered my cupcake services but I didn’t make nearly enough =(

Sorry to people who didn’t get one!

oooo sparkly…

I know our parents and teachers always told us in elementary not to eat sparkles, but in this case…YOU CAN!!!

Look forward to more exciting treats this holiday 😀

Manna’s Baby Shower =)

Hello all! So my fabulous friend Manna is gonna have a baby boy and for her baby shower she surprisingly asked me to cater for her!

I was very excited!

We didn’t really discuss any specific details, only that her mom and her were having an ABC’s and 123’s theme in blue, yellow, and red. Therefore the goodies should match =D

Here we have Marbled Cupcakes with White Chocolate Buttercream Frosting. I must say the frosting turned out beautifully! Super white-chocolatey!

Cupcakes!

Here’s an image of the actual marbled cupcakes, you can’t see the pretty swirls underneath the yummy buttercream frosting lol

Marbled cupcakes

Next we have the cookies, which basically look like cookies, but Manna’s mum wanted writing on them. On the left are peanut butter cookies with chocolate chips and on the right are my awesomely awesome chocolate chip cookies!

C is for COOKIE and that’s good enough for me =D

Lovely isn’t it?

It definitely took me time to do this one because I wanted them to be super fresh for Manna’s baby shower. So I woke up at 8:30am and finished these at 1:30pm just in time to get ready for work =D

W00t!

Anyways, here is what the final product looked like…..

Ta-Da!

I hope to hear from Manna soon and see pictures of the whole event!

Treats, No Tricks!

I’ve been waiting to do this for a couple weeks now and I FINALLY got to do it! Caramel Apples for HALLOWEEN!

Granny Smith Apples

I made regular caramel as well as chocolate caramel apples, with various toppings: peanuts, m&ms, rice krispies, chocolate chips, mini marshmallows! I could have gone craaaaaaazy, but this was really messy and I didn’t have a whole lot of time.

Caramel Apples!

YUMMY

Doesn’t that look goooooooooood? I couldn’t get a good shot of them all wrapped up with bows but they are so cute! I could totally start selling these right from my doorstep =D
